The birthplace of filterpumps in Europe is the Netherlands.

As one of the first companies in Europe the Bohncke family started production of filterpumps for the plating industry with the brandname Hendor back in 1948.

A few years later two brothers left Hendor and started a new company in the Amsterdam region called Bofil (Bohncke Filter).

The unique Bofil filterpumps Type V and X which were developed by the Bohncke brothers in the fifties, have been used decades-long in plating shops worldwide.

Where filterpumps in the fifties and sixties were made out of Perspex, Bofil was one of the first companies that changed to PP (Polypropylene) as basic material for the filterpumps.

In 2009 Hendor took over the Bofil activities and at present Bofil filterpumps are made in Bladel - the Netherlands.
